MESMERIZING JAPAN

Japan and its culture, with startling contrasts yet a balanced harmony, makes it an incredible
holiday destination. Tokyo, with its futuristic neon lit streets, Michelin star restaurants and quirky
pop culture standing next to Kyoto’s timeless traditions, geisha districts, and temple gardens
makes Japan a place you absolutely cannot miss. Discover the haunting history of Hiroshima and
soak in the beauty of the Japanese Alps as you plan to visit one of the most beautiful countries in
the world.

Day 1
Tokyo to Hakuba, Japan
Hurtle to Hakuba on an express train. Your challenge is to try and get a decent picture of one of the snow-covered mountains you zip past. Then meet your Trip Leader and get briefed on where all the fun’s at. This is it. Get excited.

Day 2
Hakuba
Cue après-ski Hakuba style in Japan. Find your zen, then flock to the alps and take it at either beginner or ninja pace. Top tip: rent snow shoes to avoid an embarrassing ice dance on the way back. Later, the evening is all yours to head out for some yakiniku (grilled meat).

Day 3
Hakuba
Jump on a ski lift. Jump off. Repeat. After a hard (read: fun) day on the slopes, stop for a drink at an izakaya or refuel with a bowl of steaming hot katsu curry

Day 4
Hakuba
If you want to try something a little bit different today, hit up Hakuba 47 snowpark then soak your sore mu

Day 5
Hakuba
Take a break from the powder and take the option to visit the snow monkeys. Aww! Missed the powder? You can still ski in the dark. Go for a night ski in renowned Kashimayari at the southern end of Hakuba valley. So. Much. Snow.scles in the Onsen pools. How luxe!

Day 6
Hakuba
Last recommendations – for the skiers: Goryu and Iwatake for long cruising trails and uninterrupted skiing. For the snowboarders: tree skiing at Cortina’s ungroomed trails and terrain parks, half-pipes, gullies and powder bowls in Hakuba. Dig into a farewell dinner tonight on the slopes. No one likes to brag, but we do love sharing stories of our new found skills. Cue hugs and goodbyes before we head off tomorrow.

Day 7
Hakuba to Tokyo
Pack your bags and take one last chance to carve the morning powder. Then, jump on an express train back to Tokyo in the afternoon. Swap numbers and plan that reunion for the next ski adventure.
